Mini cardboard mockup, TODAI-JI, Great Buddha of Nara, made in Japan
Todai-ji (literally "Great Eastern Temple"), from its full name Kegon-shu daihonzan Todai-ji, is a Buddhist temple located in Nara, Japan. It is the center of Kegon and Ritsu schools, but all branches of Japanese Buddhism are studied and the site includes many temples and shrines. Within the compound is the world's largest wooden construction, the Daibutsu-den (Great Buddha Hall), which houses a colossal bronze statue of Vairocana Buddha called Daibutsu "Big Buddha".
