The Japanese Cocker Spaniel, also known as Kokkāsupanieru Inu (コッカースパニエル犬), is a cherished variation of the famous Cocker Spaniel in Asia, particularly in Japan. This dog is known for its affectionate temperament, sharp intelligence, and elegant appearance, making it an ideal companion for many families.

The Japanese Cocker Spaniel retains the physical characteristics of the English and American Cocker Spaniel, with a few variations. It has a compact, muscular body, a well-developed chest, and long, drooping ears covered with silky, wavy fur. Its coat is often black, golden, brown, or bicolor and requires regular grooming to prevent tangling. Its large, expressive eyes give it a gentle and lovable look.

The temperament of the Kokkāsupanieru Inu is one of its most cherished qualities. It is playful, energetic, and very social, getting along well with both humans and other animals. This dog is also recognized for its intelligence and quick learning ability, making it suitable for various types of training, including agility and obedience.

Originally, Cocker Spaniels were hunting dogs specialized in retrieving game in wet and wooded areas. Although most Japanese Cocker Spaniels today are companion dogs, they still retain a strong hunting instinct and love to explore their surroundings with curiosity.

Due to their affectionate nature, Kokkāsupanieru Inu do not cope well with being alone for extended periods and may develop separation anxiety if left alone too often. They require a lot of attention, regular walks, and stimulating games to prevent boredom.

This dog is known for its cheerful attitude and strong attachment to its owners. It thrives in a loving home that provides companionship and plenty of exercise. Thanks to its growing popularity in Japan, it is becoming a preferred choice among dog lovers who appreciate elegant and affectionate pets.
