Matsui Whiskeys are produced by Matsui Shuzo at the Kurayoshi distillery. The distillery is located in Tottori Prefecture, in the southern part of the island of Honshu. The geographical location of the distillery allows it to benefit from the pure groundwater of the Daisen mountains. In addition to the "The Kurayoshi Pure Malt" and "The Tottori Blended" ranges, a line of three single malts
completes the offering: “The Kurayoshi Single Malt”, with a tribute to Japanese culture and its drawing art form “Ukiyo-e”.
Each label in the range has been carefully thought out. Katsushika Hokusai, with his series of prints "36 views of Mount Fuji", was chosen to illustrate the strength of Single Malt "The Matsui- The Peated" with his famous print "Great Wave of Kanagawa".
His vision of "Umezawa in Sagami Province" was chosen to represent the freshness of "The Matsui -Mizunara cask" Single Malt. Finally, it was the artist Kikukawa Eizan and one of his many portraits of a woman walking in a field of Sakura which was chosen to represent the delicate Single Malt 'The Matsui - Sakura cask' with the print “Beauty in the Cherry blossom Garden.”
