Product origin made in Japan
Sake family Junmai Ginjo
Alcohol 15.5%

This sake comes with Yoshino cedar wood tied around the bottle. It is made from pure water (with a concentration of natural salts close to zero) drawn directly from a well dug underground using a traditional method perfected by “master craftsmen”. Cedar is a fragrant and rot-proof wood widely used in Japan for its quality and scent and it is particularly used in temples and sanctuaries or for the manufacture of sake barrels. Yoshino cedar is very famous in Japan and considered to be the ultimate high-end wood.

Alcohol content: 15.5°

Appearance : The sake is clear, limpid. It has a slight straw sheen.

Nose: After pouring the sake onto its wooden tongue, the first nose is aromatic on Japanese cedar (sugi). We feel a little pepper, notes of resin but also mint. In the background, we can see fruits like bananas. The latter is clearly present when aerated.

Taste: The attack is sweet and fresh. The banana is intense. The palate is minty with notes of rice which intensify in the mid-palate. The finish is sweet with pear and green plum. The woodiness of the tongue is light.

Finale: We can still perceive the delicate cedar at the very end of the palate.

Pairing : You can enjoy it with a Yoshino cedar wood dipped in your glass in order to flavor the sake then enjoy it with a steak and tartar sauce, beef cooked on vines and wild mushrooms, semi-cooked tuna with green pepper, or even a platter of cheeses and charcuterie.

Tasting temperature: Cool (10°-12°).

Ingredients: Rice (30.5%), Koji (7.6%), Water (61.9%)

Storage : Store in a cool place and protected from light. In the refrigerator after opening.

The sake house Morikawa Shuzo was founded in 1887, in the town of Kure (near Hiroshima). The president of the company is Mr. Tomonori MORIKAWA, who is the 7th generation since the establishment of this company. Sake production is done within the family. Indeed, the president's brother, Mr. Motoharu MORIKAWA, is the Production Master. For the production of their sake, Morikawa Shuzo uses natural underground spring water which flows near the place of production. Thanks to their qualities, Morikawa Shuzo sakes have received several distinctions throughout their history.
