Chopsticks are tableware for grabbing food, they are mainly used in Asia and their use is traditional. They are also a decorative element. The designs are multiple and you can easily find the pair that suits you.

There are several advantages to eating with chopsticks:

For example, eating more slowly brings on the feeling of satiety more quickly, which leads us to eat less and therefore to discourage weight gain.

Eating with chopsticks would lead us to eat in small bites that we would chew less. This would reduce the rise in blood sugar and therefore prevent chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes or obesity.

Chopsticks are also very practical, you can indeed grab, turn, prick, untangle, mix, fish out of hot water without burning yourself and remove food with great precision.

Eating with chopsticks is easier than you think:

1- Slide a first chopstick into the hollow between your thumb and index finger, then place the front of the chopstick on your ring finger. This chopstick remains still.
2- Grasp the second chopstick between your index finger, middle finger, and thumb, as if you were holding a pen. This chopstick is mobile.
3- Practice moving the upper chopstick to make a pinching motion with the lower chopstick, which is still still. Once you have mastered the movement, try to grab food and hold it long enough to gently bring it to your mouth.

And while there are indeed several things not to do when eating with chopsticks (for example, sticking chopsticks in food, pushing dishes or food with them, pointing at something or someone with chopsticks, etc.), they are specific to Japanese culture and it is up to each person to respect them or not.
